Wagging Tails on the Trails takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Pepper Park Riverside, 3375 N State Road A1A, Fort Pierce, FL 34949. The event offers multiple options:
- 5K Trail Run/Walk
- 9K Trail Run
- 5K (no medal or shirt)
- Kids Puppy Dash (ages 1-10)
- Virtual 5K
The 5K is a loop on a flat, hard-packed trail that winds through mangroves and hammocks along the Indian River Lagoon. The trail area includes piers and water views and is used for fishing and birdwatching.
Logistics and awards
Registration for the on-site race includes a t-shirt, finisher medal, chip-timed race bib, and finish-line treats for dogs. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed at all times, be non-aggressive, and owners should bring poop bags; water bowls will be available at the water station and around the expo area. There is a no-shirt/no-medal entry option that still allows awards if a participant places.
Packet pick-up is scheduled at Fleet Feet in Tradition, 11586 SW Village Pkwy, Port St. Lucie, FL, with race day pickup available at the race location. All proceeds go to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department K9 unit. Awards include overall and masters categories plus age-group prizes: top three male and female in 5K age groups and top two male and female in 9K age groups.
