About the race
The Wagging Tails on the Trails is an annual running event held at Pepper Park Riverside on Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce, Florida. Scheduled for February 7, 2026, it features a 5K trail run/walk and a new 9K trail run option supporting the local K9 unit. The course is a flat, hard-packed trail winding through mangroves and scenic hammocks along the Indian River Lagoon, offering beautiful water views and wildlife.
The race is dog-friendly, allowing leashed pets with treats and water stations provided. Additional events include a Kids Puppy Dash and a virtual 5K. Participants receive a T-shirt, finisher medal, and chip timing.
