The Wild Cajun Trail Runs takes place on November 8, 2025 at Sam Houston Jones State Park, Lake Charles, Louisiana. The event includes the following distances:

The event follows a 13-mile loop that begins and ends at the park pavilion (107 Sutherland Rd, Lake Charles, LA). Historic average temperatures for the event period are listed as 52-71 degrees.
Course, aid stations and rules
Surface is described as wide dirt single-track trails with some roots and bridges on hiking trails through pine forest, rivers, cypress swamps, and moss-draped trees. Elevation is relatively flat with about 300 feet of elevation gain per 13.5-mile loop. Aid stations and drop bag policies include:
- Longleaf Aid Station at mile 3.5 - parking not available, no drop bags
- Stage Coach Aid Station at mile 7.5 - parking available, no drop bags
- Water Station at mile 11.7 - parking not available, no drop bags
- Main Aid Station at mile 13 (start/finish) - parking available, drop bags available
Aid station supplies include hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice and ice. Water and ice are provided at the water station. A hydration carrying system is required for the 13M, 27M and 40M events. The 40M requires a headlamp for night running; extra batteries or a backup light are recommended. Ruck weight requirements are 30 lb if a participant weighs more than 150 lb and 20 lb if less.
