Santa's Hot Chocolate Run is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, in downtown Lake Charles, Louisiana. The event is a 3.1-mile (5K) route that begins and ends at the Central School Arts & Humanities Center. The route starts at the corner of Pujo St. and Kirkman St., and goes via Lakeshore Drive, Watkins St., 7th St. (past St. Louis High School), and Bank St., finishing at Pujo St. and Reid St. The course will have water and photo stations at four points. Hot chocolate will be available after the finish. The event includes a Kids Zone with activities on race morning and a free scavenger hunt around the four corners of the Central School (four laps around that space equals one mile). Team entries are encouraged and the event will recognize teams in several categories.
Registration and logistics
The 5K is open to ages 5 and older. Adult and non-student fees: $30 (Aug 29 to Nov 14), $35 (Nov 15 to Dec 4), $40 (Dec 5 and 6). Student fees (ages 5-18): $20 (Aug 29 to Nov 14), $25 (Nov 15 to Dec 6). Children in strollers are not charged, but they will not be timed or qualify for awards unless registered and wearing a race bib. There is a no refund policy. Shirts and correct sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed by November 14, 2025. Packet pickup is scheduled at the Central School Arts & Humanities Center (809 Kirby St.) on December 4 and 5, 2025, in Room 123, with additional pickup on race day in the parking lot off Kirby Street.
