Wild Goose Trail Festival : September 19-20, 2026
The Wild Goose Trail Festival takes place at Wawayanda State Park in Hewitt, NJ, with related activities beginning Friday, September 18. The event offers trail races across a range of distances over the weekend and includes panels and a film screening on the Friday before race day. Free camping is available to participants, pacers, and crew on Friday and Saturday evenings. The festival partners with the nonprofit Bigger Than The Trail, which uses trail running fundraising to support access to free therapy.

The course includes doublewide trails, rolling singletrack, technical sections with rocks and roots, wood plank boardwalks and some road. The 100.25-mile course lists 11,275 ft total gain and 11,239 ft total loss, averaging about 112 ft gain per mile. The 100 miler has a single cutoff at mile 92.5 and an overall 36 hour cutoff; aid support is available throughout the 36 hours. Participants on course after sunset may have a pacer; athletes over age 60 and athletes with disabilities may have a pacer or guide at any time. 100 miler and 36 hour entrants must complete 8 hours of trail work or volunteering within a specified window, or make a $100 donation to the event partner.
