World Famous Blue Crab 5K : event overview
The World Famous Blue Crab 5K is scheduled for May 16, 2026 in Little River, South Carolina, at Vereen Memorial and Historical Gardens (2250 Hwy 179, Little River, SC 29566). The event includes two entry options: the World Famous Blue Crab 5K and an Employee-World Famous Blue Crab 5K. The standard entry fee is $35, with an additional administrative fee of $2. Registration opens on January 9, 2026 for the employee event and February 2, 2026 for the main event; the listing shows available spots for each event at the time of posting.
The course is a 5K held on the gardens' trails and on boardwalks over the marsh. The start and finish lines are at the gate of Vereen Memorial and Historical Gardens. All race participants receive a custom Blue Crab finisher’s medal.
Logistics and awards
Parking is available at Vereen Memorial Gardens and at Little River Medical Center (4303 Live Oak Drive, Little River, SC 29566). Packet pick-up and late registration are scheduled the day before at the Government and Justice Center and then at the C.B. Berry Community Center; additional pickup will also occur at C.B. Berry on race day.
Awards are given overall to male and female 1st through 3rd and by age divisions based on net chip time. Age divisions are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Awards must be collected in person; awards are not mailed. The employee entry option notes that employee fees will be reimbursed after the race.
