Historic Atlantic Beach Fun Run
The 3rd Annual Historic Atlantic Beach Fun Run, held in Atlantic Beach, South Carolina, celebrates the rich African American heritage of the community, known as The Black Pearl. This 2.5-mile fun run honors Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) and the Divine 9. The course starts at 30th Avenue cul-de-sac and winds through several streets, including crossing US Highway 17, before returning to the start.
Atlantic Beach is notable as the only remaining African American owned and governed beach municipality in the U.S., founded in 1934. Participants receive a t-shirt, and race winners earn medals, making it a meaningful and festive event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
