ZombieRunner Quarry Lakes - December 6, 2025
The event takes place at Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area (Ensenada Pavilion), 2100 Isherwood Way, Fremont, CA 94536. It includes these distances:
- Marathon
- 30K

- 5K (13 - 17 yo)

- Kid's Run (6yo & younger, 50 yd dash) - Free
Course and race logistics
All courses start in the Quarry Lakes area and follow the Alameda Creek Trail up to the mouth of Niles Canyon. The Half Marathon (CA19047RS) and Marathon (CA18047RS) courses are USATF certified. Surfaces: 5K and 10K are 100% crushed rock; Half Marathon and Marathon are about 64% crushed rock and 36% asphalt. The course is described as relatively flat and will be marked with directional signage.
Park entrance is included; organizers provide a printable park entrance pass. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Ensenada Pavilion; participants are asked to arrive about 45 minutes before their event for bib and shirt pick-up. Drop bags are allowed for the 30K and Marathon at the start/finish. To guarantee a shirt, register at least 10 business days before the event. The Marathon has a 7.5 hour time limit and a 13.1-mile cut at 3 hours 35 minutes; all events share a 7.5 hour overall limit.
Aid stations, rules, timing and awards
Aid stations appear every 2 to 5 miles and offer fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte sports drink. Runners are recommended to carry at least 20 oz of water between aid stations. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own fluid container. A small number of reusable Hydrapak SpeedCups will be available for sale at check-in.
Timing uses MyLaps bib tags and results are published periodically. T-shirts are given to pre-registered runners and all finishers receive a custom medal. The top three male and female overall finishers at each distance receive awards and race credits ($50, $35, $20). Top three finishers in each age group and gender receive medals. Headphone use is restricted to dirt-road sections only. No dogs are allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
