ZZ TROT : La Grange, TX (January 24, 2026)
The ZZ TROT takes place at Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Site, 414 Texas 92 Spur, La Grange, TX 78945. The park sits above the Colorado River and overlooks the town of La Grange. The event is presented as a trail running festival with live ZZ Top cover music by Three Hombres and a free kids event. Park entry is included with participant registration.

The 5k uses wave starts seeded by estimated finish time. The two 1-mile events are run as individual time trials with solo starts at 30-second intervals in opposite directions. Results are recorded separately for each event and aggregated for the Tres Hombres Challenge. Registrations and pricing change over time; prices increase after December 31, 2025, and some events have registration deadlines.
Course and participant items
Trails include wider pathways, grass, rocky single-track and double-track, and a section of stone stairs. Expect about 500 ft of total gain/loss on the 5k and roughly 250 ft per mile on the outer loop. The 5k route begins with a short loop that includes a stair climb to the historic homestead before following the outer loop. Participants receive race entry, a bib, park entry, a finishers medal, a race shirt for certain events, a ZZ TROT fake beard or sunglasses, a temporary tattoo or sticker, and access to the live cover band.
