The 10k @ 10,000 Feet is a challenging trail running event held at the summit of Rabbit Ears Pass near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Known for its stunning mountain scenery, the race features a course starting at 10,000 feet elevation, with an uphill segment on US Forest Service dirt roads followed by a downhill on single-track trails, totaling about 6.8 miles (slightly longer than a standard 10k). Runners experience approximately 1,200 feet of elevation gain and loss.

The event also offers a 5k option. An aid station is available midway on the 10k course, and participants are encouraged to bring their own water. The race benefits Steamboat Nordic and was voted Colorado's best 10k by Colorado Runner Magazine in 2010. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
