10,000 Feet 10k
The 10k @ 10,000 Feet is a challenging trail running event held at the summit of Rabbit Ears Pass near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Known for its breathtaking mountain scenery, the race features a 10k course that is actually about 6.8 miles with approximately 1,200 feet of elevation gain and loss. The route starts at 10,000 feet elevation, initially ascending on US Forest Service dirt roads before descending on single-track trails, finishing on cross-country single-track terrain.
A 5k option is also available. The race is celebrated for its beautiful terrain and was voted the best 10k in Colorado by Colorado Runner Magazine in 2010. Proceeds benefit Steamboat Nordic. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
