Continental Divide Trail Run
The Continental Divide Trail Run, held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, offers three trail race distances: 5 miles, 16 miles, and 50 kilometers. The courses feature scenic routes through aspen and pine forests with expansive views of the Yampa Valley. The 16-mile race includes over 3,500 feet of elevation gain, reaching a high point of 10,420 feet, while the 50K challenges runners with approximately 5,500 feet of climbing, much of it above 10,000 feet.
Both longer distances have significant climbs primarily in the first 7.5 miles. The 5-mile race climbs over 1,000 feet in the initial 2.5 miles. The event starts and finishes at the Steamboat Ski Area, making it a classic Northern Colorado trail running experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
