Event overview
The American Legion Post 14 Birthday Bash 5k takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Shreveport, LA at American Legion Post 14, 5315 South Lakeshore Drive. The event is the inaugural 5K, with additional fun runs and a Sleep-In Supporter option. The course runs along Cross Lake on South Lakeshore Drive and starts and ends in the American Legion parking lot. Immediately after the race there is a birthday celebration with sponsor booths, food, and birthday cake. The event states that 100% of funds raised will support veterans, veterans' families, service members, service members' families, and American Legion Post 14.
Entry, packet pick-up and awards
Distances and entry prices:
- 5K - $25
- 1 Mile Walk or Fun Run - $25
- 1/2 Mile Kids Run (12 and under) - $10
- Sleep-In Supporter - $20
Participants who register before Monday, March 2 receive a specially designed performance camo T-shirt with their packet. Packet pick-up is at Sportspectrum on Thursday, March 12 (12:00-6:00 PM) and Friday, March 13 (10:00 AM-5:30 PM). Sportspectrum will also bring packets to the American Legion Post on Tuesday, March 10 (6:00-7:00 PM). Race day packets are available at the race site.
Awards for the 5K include overall male and female winners and medals for 1st place male and female in these age groups: 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. The kids run has overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes. The 1 Mile Walk or Fun Run does not receive a prize. The Sleep-In Supporter receives the T-shirt but must follow the same packet pick-up instructions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
