Event overview
America's Trot for Hunger takes place on November 27, 2025, at Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC. The event is organized as a Thanksgiving morning Turkey Trot to raise funds and awareness for SOME. Proceeds support meals, housing, healthcare, and job training for people in need. The in-person event includes a family-friendly finisher festival and a pet costume competition called Best Dressed "Turkey".

The race program includes:

- Virtual 5K (can be completed November 1-30)
- Little Turkey 1 Miler
- Pet Competition : Best Dressed 'Turkey'
Registration is online only; there is no in-person registration or payment on race morning. Pre-race packet pick up is scheduled on the two days before the event at Pacers Running stores (Georgetown and Clarendon) and at Conrad (City Center), plus a location at 950 New York Ave NW. Pre-race packet pick up is the only opportunity to collect a race t-shirt before race morning; participants who skip pick up must collect shirts after race day morning. There is no water stop on the course; bottled water will be available at the finish area. Listed event entry fees include $65 for the in-person 5K, $45 for the Virtual 5K, $15 for the 1 Miler, and $25 for the pet competition. Sponsors are listed on the event page.
