The McDowell Mountain Frenzy takes place Saturday, December 6, 2025 at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills / Mesa, Arizona. Distances offered:
- 50 Mile - 50.1 miles, 7,026 ft total elevation gain
- 50K - 30.8 miles, 3,020 ft total elevation gain
- 25K - 15.3 miles, 1,305 ft total elevation gain
- 10 Mile - 10 miles, 800 ft total elevation gain
- 5 Mile - 5.2 miles, 500 ft total elevation gain
Registration closes on December 1, 2025. Late registration and packet pickup are available at designated times before the race.
Course and logistics
Courses use rolling single track, short steep climbs and drops, and desert scenery inside McDowell Mountain Regional Park and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Routes include the competitive track and recently built trails such as Coach Whip and Dixie Mine. Aid stations are stocked roughly every 3 to 10.5 miles. The event is a cupless race series; reusable cups are available at registration or runners may bring their own.
Crew access is limited to the start/finish area for most distances; permit restrictions limit other crew locations. Pacers are allowed only for 50 Mile runners on the final loop. Drop bags are allowed for 50 Mile runners at Dixie Mine and Headquarters, and for 50K at Dixie Mine. Parking is at the competitive track lot; the park charges a $7 vehicle entry fee.
