Arny Johnson 5k - 10 mile : event overview
The Arny Johnson 5k - 10 mile is a running and walking event in Loves Park, IL, with start and finish at the Zenith Park Way Trail Head (5451 Zenith Pkwy). The event includes the following distances:

Both races start together with a gun start. The routes follow the Willow Creek Path and enter Rock Cut State Park. Organizers note the course layout is new this year.
Logistics, support and rules
The 10-mile course has three water stops; runners pass the water stop near the dam twice and another near the north park entrance where the paved path crosses the road. Early packet pickup is available at Fire Department Coffee (811 W Riverside Blvd, Rockford, IL 61103) and race day packet pickup is at the Zenith Park Way Trail Head. There is a race day sign-up option with a higher fee. The race lists the Fire Department Coffee Foundation as its charity. Age group awards are given in categories starting at 8 & under, then 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and in five-year increments up to 100+. First place male and female receive an awards ceremony shortly after they finish; other awards must be collected at the awards table. Strollers and pets are not allowed on the Willow Creek Path.
