The Baldface Scramble takes place in the White Mountain National Forest at Baldface Farm / Copeland Field off Route 113 in Chatham, NH (Evans Notch) on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The event offers the following distances:

Parking and the start/finish are on private property with a grass field staging area and a long driveway off Route 113. The race is part of the White Mountain Endurance Cup series.
Course and race details
Both courses travel over the Baldfaces. The 14K is a single loop that crosses the Baldfaces and returns via Bicknell Ridge Trail. The 29K consists of two loops: the Baldfaces loop (with a fully stocked aid station at the start/finish) followed by a second loop that goes up and over Mount Meader. The 29K is listed as 17.8 miles with about 6,226 feet of total elevation gain and a maximum elevation of 3,578 feet. The 14K is listed as 9 miles with about 3,479 feet of total elevation gain and the same maximum elevation. Time limits are approximately 9 hours for the 29K and 8 hours for the 14K.
Mandatory gear for all entrants includes 2 liters of fluids, 400 calories of food, a windbreaker or rain shell, and a space or emergency foil blanket. The event is cupless; participants must bring their own hydration system. There are no pacers allowed. Crews are permitted at the start/finish area. Runners are asked to have prior experience: a hilly, moderately technical trail race of at least 10 miles or equivalent mountain experience.
