Race The Cog is a unique mountain footrace held in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, where runners race alongside the historic Mount Washington Cog Railway to the summit of Mount Washington. The main Summit Climb covers approximately 2.75 miles with a challenging 3,500-foot elevation gain, featuring steep grades up to 37% and technical boulder fields in the Presidential Range. The course starts on dirt and gravel, ending at the summit with spectacular views.

A longer option, the Devil's Shingle Roundtripper, is a 5.5-mile roundtrip race to the summit and back down. The event is known for extreme and variable weather conditions, and participants must bring their own hydration gear as the race is cupless. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
