Be a Hero 5K

The Be a Hero 5K is an annual running and walking event held on the campus of Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, Illinois. Scheduled for October 4, 2025, the event features a 5K run called “The Flash” and a 5K walk named “Hulk,” welcoming participants of all skill levels. The race starts and finishes outside the Spiritual Life Center, with a course mapped around the Cunningham campus.

Proceeds support Cunningham’s programs aiding youth facing abuse, trauma, and mental health challenges. Fundraisers who raise $100 receive a Cunningham Hero Cape.
