About the race
The Belmont Water Dog Run is an annual, community-supported running event in Belmont, California, now in its 8th year. It offers multiple distances for people and dogs: 5K and 10K road races, a 1-mile Kids’ Fun Run, a 1-mile Fido Mile for dogs (with one owner per dog), and a Virtual Run/Walk. Dogs are only allowed in the Fido Mile; the other races are dog-free.
The event emphasizes a family-friendly, student-powered atmosphere and provides shirts and medals for human runners and a dog bandana for canine participants.
