Big Sur Trail Marathon

The 2025 Big Sur Trail Marathon, Half Marathon & 5 Mile, the 35th annual edition, takes place at Andrew Molera State Park in Big Sur, California. It offers three distances: marathon, half marathon, and 5 miles, with a field limited to 300 participants. Runners follow the Old Coast Road, rewarded with dramatic California coastline views and a challenging, hilly course.

The route is orange-ribbon marked, with aid stations at key miles; walkers are welcome. The weekend program includes a picnic-area start/finish, and finishers receive medals or ribbons and a participant shirt. Camping and nearby hotels support a weekend in the area.
