Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest
Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest takes place in Blue Hill, ME on August 1, 2026. The event offers multiple race distances on trails around Blue Hill Mountain, with start and finish at the Mountain Rd field. Distances available:
- 50k - seven full figure-eight loops
- 25k - three full figure-eight loops after a shorter upper loop
- 10k - one upper loop plus a full figure-eight loop
- 5k - upper loop with summit and return to start
Profits from the event are transferred to Blue Hill Heritage Trust and Wabanaki Alliance. Fees are waived for Wabanaki Tribal Members; a code is provided by the organizers.
Course, support and logistics
The course includes technical forested trails, fields, and coastal viewpoints. The race uses a figure-eight loop profile with summit climbs via Osgood Trail and Post Office Trail. As a Trail Sisters Approved race, it provides equal podiums and awards, women’s specific apparel and swag, menstrual products at aid stations, women represented on the starting line, and a pregnancy and postpartum policy allowing deferral or refund upon request.
The race hub is the main aid station at the start/finish, supplying hydration, a range of snacks including vegan options and whoopie pies. A smaller aid station is located at the Post Office/Osgood/Mountain Rd intersection. There is a designated drop bag area for 25k and 50k runners. Crews may be stationed for 25k and 50k at Osgood/Mountain Rd; pacers are not allowed. Packet pickup and a pre-race meeting occur the day before the race at the Mountain Rd field.
