Champlain Islands Marathon & Half Marathon
The event takes place on October 18, 2026, in South Hero, Vermont, with the venue listed as Folsom Elementary School, 75 South Street. The event includes the following distances:

The race is open to runners aged 16 and older. Pre-registration is available and the event has reached capacity in recent years. The total field is limited to 500 runners. There are no refunds, deferrals, wait lists, or bib transfers. All participants receive a race shirt.
Course, support, and logistics
The half-marathon is an out-and-back route on the west shore of South Hero and Grand Isle. The landscape includes farms, apple orchards, and summer cottages. Terrain is described as flat to rolling and the entire course is paved. The full marathon is two out-and-backs of the half-marathon course. The course is USATF certified (VT24002JK) and miles 1-13 are marked; it may be used to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Elevations: start/finish at 190 ft, maximum 210 ft, minimum 100 ft; Lake Champlain elevation is 95 ft. Time cutoffs are 6 hours for the marathon and 4 hours for the half.
Aid stations are provided roughly every 2 miles from mile 2 to mile 24 (12 stations). Water and electrolyte drink are supplied at all aid stations; 2-3 porta-potties are on course and sweep vehicles are available. Medals are given to all finishers.
