About the race
Chesapeake City hosts its 17th Annual New Years Day 5K in Chesapeake City, Maryland, on January 1. The fast, flat, town-course is wheel-measured and runs along 108 Bohemia Avenue near Town Hall, with parking under the bridge at 3rd Street. The event offers a 5K run and a separate Competitive Walking category for walkers only.
Proceeds benefit Chesapeake City’s Recycling Program. Participants can earn a commemorative medal by registering by December 22 and enjoy post-race refreshments. Awards include overall male/female winners and age-group prizes, with top walkers recognized as well.
