Event overview
The Christmas Rush takes place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Kent, Washington. The event includes a 5k run/walk and a 10k run, both finishing at the same location near Hogan Park at 24400 Russell Road. Participants age 13 and under run free courtesy of Taylor Farms. Awards are given to the top five finishers in each age group after the race. A garage-sale table sells previous race shirts for $5 cash.
Course and logistics
The race follows routes along the Green River. The 10k uses a new clockwise course that begins on the west side of the river, crosses a bridge, and finishes on the east side. The 5k is a modified out-and-back course that starts on 240th in front of the city shops, crosses the bridge, goes north on Frager Road, returns over a foot bridge to the riverside trail, and finishes in front of the city shops. Dogs are not allowed on the course; strollers are permitted with appropriate start positioning. The event requests volunteers for course marshals, water and snack distribution, and other support tasks; typical volunteer shifts run from mid-morning and volunteers should be prepared for variable weather.
