Event
The Cannon Mountain race in the Cirque Series takes place on June 13, 2026 in Cannon Mountain, New Hampshire. The course distance is 6.9 miles with 3,080 ft of elevation gain. The event is capped at 500 runners. The host site is the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation.
Course
The route starts at the Peabody Base Area and ascends the Peabody Slopes, then runs across the Front5 toward the Aerial Tramway. A 2-mile section on the Kinsman Ridge Trail adds about 2,081 ft of gain to the summit at 4,031 ft. From the summit the course crosses under the Cannonball Quad, descends Upper Ravine Trail, climbs The Saddle toward Mittersill, then continues on ski-trail sections including Skyline, Ridge Run, Dragons Drop, Baron’s Run and Coyote Crossing back to the Peabody Base Area.
Safety and logistics
The course is described as steep, rocky, grassy, wet and slippery. Competitors must follow orange flagging; if a runner encounters a path without flags they should return to the last flagged point. There is a strict cut-off at the Cannon Mountain summit of 2 hours; competitors who meet the cut-off will take the tramway down. Each competitor receives a snapback, giveaway ticket, logoed bib and medal, a sponsor swag bag, and free professional race photos. Vendor village and race-day bib pick-up are provided.
