Event

The Loon Mountain Race takes place on July 12, 2026, in Lincoln, New Hampshire, at 60 Loon Mountain Road. The event includes three categories: Loon Mountain Women, Loon Mountain Men, and U20 (under 20 on race day). The course features the Upper Walking Boss, a roughly one-kilometer ascent on a black diamond trail with grassy slope angles that exceed 40% grade. Timing mats will be placed at the bottom of the Upper Walking Boss and at the finish.

Logistics

Registration closes on Thu, Jul 9 at 11:59 PM ET. Participants must sign the Loon Mountain Resort waiver to race; unsigned waivers will result in being turned away. There is no day-of registration. Early bib pickup is available from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Octagon Lodge. Check-in opens at 6:00 AM on race day and the parking lot also opens at 6:00 AM, with resort staff directing parking. Spectators are allowed; a gondola is available as an option for descent, and a marked service road provides an alternative 1.5-mile downhill route. Trekking poles are not permitted at a USATF event. The Upper Walking Boss Challenge carries a $1,500 prize purse for the top three men and women on that section, distributed as 1st $400, 2nd $250, and 3rd $100.
