Coolest Ride and Tie and Equathon
The Coolest Ride and Tie and Equathon event takes place at the Olmstead Staging Area in Cool, California, within the scenic Auburn State Recreational Area. Featuring fire roads and shaded single-track trails, the event offers multiple race categories: Ride and Tie (teams of two sharing one horse) with long (21 miles) and short (9 miles) courses, and Equathon (combined horse riding and running) with long (12-mile ride/9-mile run) and short (6-mile ride/6-mile run) courses. The event emphasizes community and connection, providing amenities like camping, nearby restaurants, and veterinary support.
Participants must be members of the Ride & Tie Association, and the course is well marked with on-course support and awards for top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
