Cowboy 200 - Norfolk, NE
Cowboy 200 is a point-to-point ultramarathon along Nebraska’s Cowboy Trail, starting in Norfolk and finishing in Valentine. Runners can choose a 200-mile solo or a 100-mile option, both on a rails-to-trails crushed-limestone course that is 100% runnable and mostly vehicle-free, with short town sections on paved roads. The route winds through the Nebraska back-country, featuring relics, bridges (largest 1/4 mile, 148 feet), depots, and a water-powered gristmill.
There are 10 manned aid stations with hot food, 9 unmanned water stops, and three sleep stations, plus GPS tracking. Prizes include $1500 to 1st for both genders, potential $500 course-record bonuses, swag, buckles, and a finish celebration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
