No Shame Shindig

Event overview

The No Shame Shindig is a running event held on June 27, 2026, in Pierce, Nebraska. Registration opens November 1, 2025. Distances offered include multiple trail and road-length options. Cutoff limits are set for each distance: a 15-hour cutoff for the 50-mile race, a 13-hour cutoff for the 50K, and an 11-hour cutoff for both the marathon and half marathon.

Finishers receive a finisher medal. Top male and female finishers of each distance receive a custom plaque. Participant items include a T-shirt, SpeedCup, bib belt, and cooling towel. On-course and start/finish food items listed include PB&J, chips, cookies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, candy, crackers, potatoes, gummies, a variety of drinks, water, ice, and electrolytes. The finish meal is to be determined.

Location, course and camping

The event is based at Willow Creek State Recreation Area on the 700-acre Willow Creek Reservoir, about 4 miles southwest of Pierce and about 15 miles northwest of Norfolk. The area is managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The main trail is an 8-mile limestone hike/bike trail; a 2-mile connector to Pierce may be used but that decision is still being finalized. Willow Creek SRA offers Electric Plus, Electric, Basic, Equestrian Electric Plus, and Equestrian Basic camping. Willow Way Campground includes 165 electric campsites and additional basic sites. Half the campsites may be reserved; the remainder are first-come, first-served with self-registration in an iron ranger box (check or cash). A dump and fill station is located in Pierce, about 5 miles from the lake.
