Event overview
The Coyote Trail Run takes place on April 18, 2026 at Cleburne State Park in Cleburne, Texas. The event offers multiple distances:
- 50 miles
- 50K
- 25K
- 8 miles
- 4 miles
All races start and finish at the same location. The main loop measures about 8.33 miles and is used by the 50 mile, 50K, 25K and 8 mile events. Each 8.33-mile loop has approximately 800 to 1,000 feet of elevation gain. The 50 mile is six loops, the 50K is four loops, the 25K is two loops, the 8 mile is one full loop and the 4 mile uses a modified loop.
Course, aid and policies
Runners must carry a hydration device to participate; the event is a cupless race and reusable collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup. Aid stations are stocked with water, Gatorade and a selection of food items such as bananas, oranges, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, Oreos, fig cookies, soda and electrolyte products. Each loop includes one on-course aid station; multi-loop runners may also use the start/finish aid station.
Pacers are permitted only for 50-mile runners and only on the final loop. All participants must have park entry via a day pass, annual pass or camping reservation; park entry for those 13 and older is listed as $6 per person. The event provides finisher medals to all finishers and distance-specific medals for the 50K and 25K. Registration credit and transfer policies are specified for cancellations and bib transfers.
