Event overview
The Dashing Through the Snow 5K takes place on December 14, 2025, at Imerman Memorial Park in Saginaw, MI (3495 Midland Rd). The event benefits the Barb Smith Suicide Resource & Response Network, with proceeds donated to support mental health and suicide prevention efforts. It is a USATF sanctioned event that will be professionally managed and timed, with online results. Registration is limited to 450 participants.

Registration categories include options with or without a t-shirt and reduced rates for youth (13 & under) and seniors (60+). T-shirts are guaranteed only for registrants who sign up before midnight on Sunday, December 7. Packet pickup and late registration will take place at Bayne’s Apple Valley (5395 Midland Rd, Freeland, MI), which is about 3 miles from Imerman Memorial Park.
Course, rules and awards
The course is a 1.5 mile loop completed twice on a firmly packed trail through woods and along the Tittabawassee River. The route is mostly flat with a few small inclines. The trail will be ungroomed and will not be plowed if snow arrives; participants are advised to prepare for variable winter conditions. A water station will be located near pavilion 4 and will be passed twice on the course. Dogs may not participate but may spectate; snowshoes are permitted. Walkers and participants rucking are allowed and asked to remain to the side of the trail.
Overall awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers and to the top masters (40+) male and female. First-place overall receives free entry to next year’s event, second place receives 50% off, and third place receives 25% off. First-place male and female finishers will receive age-group awards in the listed categories. Results, including actual and adjusted times, will be posted after the event.
