Event overview
The 2025 DC Fall Classic offers two race distances on October 19 in Georgetown and at Fletcher's Boathouse. Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Fall Series. A virtual run option is available. Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing. The race benefits Mary’s Center.
Course and logistics
Both distances use the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path, a light gravel trail with minimal elevation change, and follow out-and-back routes. Distances:
- Half marathon
- 5k
The half marathon starts and finishes in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club; the 5k starts and finishes at Fletcher’s Boathouse. The half course has seven water stations at approximately miles 1.55, 3.8, 4.3, 6.55, 8.8, 9.3 and 11.55. The 5k has one water station near mile 1.55; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are provided near the registration areas - port-a-johns in Georgetown and building restrooms at Fletcher’s. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing table but race staff are not responsible. Packet pickup is offered the day before at Road Runner Sports in Arlington. There is no on-site race registration. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women and to top finishers in listed age groups.
