Event overview
The 2025 Fort Hunt Park 5k & 10k takes place on October 4 at Fort Hunt Park in Alexandria, VA. The event offers two distances:
- 5k
- 10k
Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and toward a Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person. The event is chip timed. Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (Dri-FIT) event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for registrations before August 24 and are available afterwards on a first-come, first-served basis.
Course and logistics
The course is a paved loop along park roads with no major elevation gains. The 5k is 2.5 laps and the 10k is 5 laps. Water stations are placed at the beginning or end of each lap; some stations will offer Gatorade. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Restrooms are available on site and packet pickup is available at the event. There will be no on-site race registration. Live results are posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted on the organizer’s website after the race. The event partners with the John P. Mayhugh Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit addressing recovery-related issues. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
