Event overview
The 2025 DC Turkey Trot includes a 5k and a half marathon on November 23 in Georgetown and at Fletcher’s Boathouse. Both courses run on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path. The half marathon starts and finishes in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club. The 5k starts and finishes at Fletcher’s Boathouse. The canal path is described as a light gravel trail with minimal elevation change and an out-and-back route. A virtual race option is offered. Walkers and strollers are welcome.

Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical Dri-FIT event shirt, and chip timing. The half marathon has a 3:15 time limit for completion; an earlier start can be arranged for runners near that limit. Water stations: seven along the half at listed mile markers and one on the 5k near mile 1.55; Gatorade is available at some stations. Packet pickup is available at the event; organizers advise arriving early to check in. There is no on-site race registration. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd in standard age groups. Live results and final series points will be posted after the race.
