Course, aid and rules

The route is four repeated loops of about 15.5 miles each on trails around ACE Adventure Resort and into New River Gorge National Park. Each loop includes roughly 2,400 feet of elevation gain and loss and crosses or follows local waterways including Rush Run, Arbuckle Creek, and the New River. Runners will encounter an Arbuckle Creek crossing that requires rock-hopping.

Runners must carry all personal food and fuel while on each loop. Hydration stations with water and Gnarly Fuel2-O are available at the 5-mile and 10-mile points of each loop. An aid station at the Start/Finish area allows access to crew, personal vehicles, or campsites. Solo 100K runners may use a pacer for the final loop. The solo 100K has a 24-hour cutoff; the solo 50K has a 12-hour cutoff.

Entry, fees and awards

Early and later registration pricing tiers apply for solo and relay entries through mid-January. Full refunds are offered until February 1; deferrals or partial refunds after that date are handled case by case. All solo 100K finishers receive a custom belt buckle; solo 50K and relay finishers receive a custom medal. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each category, and first-place male and female 100K finishers receive a free entry to the Rim to River 100 event.
