The Freeze Your Buns Run 5K takes place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Spencer, NC at 460 S. Salisbury Avenue, Spencer 28159. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K Run / Walk
- 1/2-mile Fun Dash (ages 12 and under)
The 5K registration fee is $25 through December 5 and increases to $30 on race day with on-site registration available. The Fun Dash fee is $15. Registration for the Fun Dash closes on race day.
Additional information
The race is held in conjunction with and to benefit Winterfest, a German Christmas marketplace held the first weekend in December. A costume contest called Jingle All The Way will award prizes to the top three most festive costumes, with winners announced during the post-race celebration on the Winterfest stage.
Awards for the 5K include top three overall male and female, top masters male and female, and top three in each age division. Medals will be given to the top three in these age divisions for male and female: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards; awards will not be mailed. 5K participants receive a long sleeve technical T-shirt. Timing and scoring for the 5K will be provided by Salisbury Rowan Runners. The organizers reserve the right to delay or cancel the race if weather conditions pose a safety hazard.
