16th Annual Gainesville Turkey Trot 5K/10K/Half Marathon and Youth Fun Run (Riverside Preparatory Academy, Gainesville, GA)
The event takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Riverside Preparatory Academy track area, 2001 Riverside Drive, Gainesville, GA 30501. It includes these distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
- Youth 1-Mile Fun Run
The Half Marathon is run as three loops with the finish at the track area; the course includes a few hills and self-serve aid stations. The 5K is an out-and-back loop and the 10K repeats the 5K course twice. Packet pick-up is available the day before at Limestone Shirt Factory, 2480 Limestone Parkway, Gainesville. 5K, 10K and Half participants are eligible to receive a quarter-zip jacket if registered by November 17; Youth Fun Run participants receive a printed long-sleeve dri-fit shirt and a medal. Digital timing will be used and results will be posted quickly. Participants are asked to bring at least three canned goods for donation to Gainesville First United Methodist Church. Strollers are allowed and dogs are permitted if friendly. Awards are given to overall and masters finishers in each race; all Half Marathon entrants receive a finisher medal.
Gainesville's Thanksgiving Day Cops & Gobblers 5K (Downtown Gainesville Square, Gainesville, GA)
This event is scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Downtown Gainesville Square, 112 Bradford St NE, Gainesville, GA 30501. It includes:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids Fun Run
- Virtual 5K
The course starts and finishes on the historic Gainesville Square and is described as spectator friendly with an elevation gain of 162 feet. Proceeds benefit the Gainesville-Hall County Fraternal Order of Police Cops & Kids Program. Race swag notes include a shirt size guarantee for registrations by November 18 and medals guaranteed for the first 1,400 registrants. The downtown square offers three parking decks and on-street parking; some deck exit restrictions are noted. Dogs must be leashed and friendly; strollers are welcome and start from the back of the field. Packet pick-up details will be announced.
