Galveston Sand Crab 5K/10K

Galveston Sand Crab 5K/10K/Kid’s Beach Mile is a nighttime beach race starting and finishing at Galveston’s R.A. Apffel East Beach Park. Runners traverse sand along East Beach in an out-and-back course: 3.1 miles for the 5K/10K or 1.55 miles for the Kid’s Mile, returning to the finish under LED lights with flashlight or headlamp required.

The event is chip-timed, well supported, with two water stops on the longer routes and a post-race party featuring beer from Galveston Island Brewing. All finishers receive a custom medal (kids also get a shirt and medal). Proceeds benefit Galveston Humane Society. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
