Gateway to the Cure Covered Bridge 5K

Gateway to the Cure Covered Bridge 5K is Thurmont, Maryland’s annual fundraising running event on 15 Eyler Road. The 5K loop course is described as challenging and engaging for both seasoned runners and those finishing their first 5K, with walking and strollers welcome. The event takes place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and proceeds benefit the Patty Hurwitz Fund at FMH for breast cancer research (Pink Ribbon Frederick).

Each registrant receives a commemorative pint glass with the Gateway to the Cure logo, and there are before- and after-race foods, making it a community-focused affair. It’s Thurmont’s premiere and only 5K race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
