Grand Traverse Mountain Run
The Grand Traverse Mountain Run is a challenging 40-mile point-to-point ultramarathon held in Colorado, running from Crested Butte to Aspen across the Elk Mountains. The course follows the route of the Grand Traverse Backcountry Ski race and features over 6,000 feet of elevation gain, offering a demanding alpine trail experience. The event is organized by Crested Butte Nordic, a nonprofit supporting recreational activities.
Runners must carry mandatory gear including a waterproof hooded jacket, hat or buff, gloves, and a Colorado Outdoor Search and Rescue card. The race includes five aid stations and drop bag support, with a post-race shuttle from Aspen to Crested Butte. Registration is limited to 350 participants.
