Great Eastern Endurance Run
GEER, the Great Eastern Endurance Run, returns after a 15-year hiatus to Sherando Lake in Lyndhurst, Virginia, offering 40-, 20-, and 10-mile options. The course unfolds in the Blue Ridge mountains with predominantly single-track trails and remote forest roads, featuring climbs to Bald Mountain, rugged switchbacks, and scenic mountain views amid fiery fall foliage. Runners encounter a true mountain course with limited pavement and multiple aid stations; drop-bag and crew access are organized, with strict cutoffs to ensure safety.
The event is presented by Bad to the Bone Sports and celebrates trail-running community, delivering a challenging, immersive ultrarunning experience and a supportive community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
