2025 HBI 5K & 10k : Georgetown, Washington, DC
The event takes place on December 7 in Georgetown at 3530 Water St NW, Washington, DC. Distances offered:

Both races run on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path. The 5k follows a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change and is an out-and-back course. Walkers and strollers are welcome. A virtual run option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Fall Series.
Logistics, timing and support
The event is chip timed. Registered participants receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (Dri-FIT) event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before November 21. Early registration fees: 5k $35 until November 15 ($40 after), 10k $50 until November 15 ($55 after); prices increase by $5 on race morning. There will be no on-site race registration. Packet pickup is available at the event; participants should arrive well before the race to check in. One water station is provided along the 5k course at about mile 1.55. Port-a-johns will be located near the check-in area. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing table but organizers are not responsible. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points will be posted the Monday after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd place in listed age groups; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. The event supports HBI, which provides free health education, screening and linkage to care for underserved communities in DC, Virginia and Maryland.
