Event details
The GLIRC Heckscher State Park Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K takes place on March 28, 2026 at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, NY (Heckscher Field 6). The event offers three distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 5K
All three distances are USATF certified and the marathon is a Boston qualifier. The courses use looped park roads that are fully closed to traffic. The course layout is described as suitable for spectating and includes water and nutrition stops along the route.
Registration, amenities and awards
Registration options include separate entries for the marathon, half marathon and 5K with early, regular and race day pricing tiers. Registered participants receive a long-sleeved shirt and a finisher medal. Additional event services include light refreshments after the race, a heated tent, live/text/email results, free finish-line photos, and personalized bibs for entries submitted at least three weeks before race day. Pre-race day bib pickup is listed as TBD; race day pickup is at Field 6.
Awards are given to top 3 male and female overall, top 3 male and female in multiple age groups (15-19 through 80+), top 1 male and female masters, and top 3 male and female age-graded finishers.
