Historic Hillsborough Half Marathon
The Historic Hillsborough Half Marathon and 5K, held annually in Hillsborough, North Carolina, offers runners scenic courses that highlight the town's rich history and natural beauty. Participants run past notable landmarks such as the Old Orange County Courthouse, Burwell School, Margaret Lane Cemetery, and the Occoneechee Indian Village. Both race distances include a lap on the Historic Occoneechee Speedway Trail, the only remaining track from NASCAR's inaugural 1949 season.
The route also features Churton Street and Hillsborough's River Walk, part of the Mountains to Sea trail. The event provides custom medals, age-group awards, and race merchandise, creating a festive and historic atmosphere for runners of all levels.
