About the race
Hoover Dam Marathon is a historic and scenic running event at Lake Mead National Recreation Area near Boulder City, Nevada, about 18 miles from Las Vegas. The race offers Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K distances, with starts at Boulder Beach and a finish there. Runners travel the Historic Railroad Trail, part of Rail-to-Trails Conservancy, and the paved River Mountains Loop Trail, winding through the Mojave Desert with views of Lake Mead and the marina.
Marathoners complete two loops, with roughly 14 miles on packed-dirt trail and the rest on pavement. A Money Shot overlook provides dramatic Hoover Dam views; the course does not go over the Dam and is certified as a qualifier. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
