Independence Freedom Day 5k

The Independence Freedom Day 5k and Down Hill Mile is an annual running event held in Independence, Virginia, hosted by Grayson County Parks and Recreation and Blue Devil Cross Country boosters. Scheduled for July 4, 2025, the event features a medium to hard 5k course with some hills, starting at the GCHS parking lot and winding through local streets and trails, as well as a separate, fast downhill mile race on a slight downhill sidewalk course. Participants can enter either race for $25 or both for $30.
