Event details
The Kentwood 4th of July 5K is scheduled for July 4, 2026. The event includes two race options:
- 5K
- 5K Handcycle
The race is part of the City of Kentwood's Fourth of July celebration and the start/finish is next to Kentwood City Hall and Fire Station #1 on Walma Avenue.
Logistics and race information
All participants receive a finisher medal. Awards will be given to the Overall Male and Overall Female finishers; there is no award ceremony. Race timing uses chip timing and a digital finish clock. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by June 13; sizes cannot be guaranteed for later registrations.
Packet pickup is available before race day at the Kentwood Activities Center (355 48th St. SE) and on race day near the start line at 4900 Breton St. SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. The course runs through local neighborhoods and along the East West Trail, and includes a portion of the parade route. For safety, baby joggers, roller blades, dogs, and bicycles are not allowed on the course. Water stations will be provided along the route. The course will close for parade preparation; participants not finished at that time should use sidewalks for their safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
