Event overview
The KU Vets Day 5K takes place on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Lawrence, Kansas. The event is the 14th annual KU Vets Day 5K and will honor the Semiquincentennial (250th anniversary) of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. It is hosted by KU Student Veterans of America, the Veterans Alumni Network, KU Alumni, and the Lt. Gen. William K. Jones Military-Affiliated Student Center. The race includes the following distance options:

Logistics and amenities
The start and finish will be at the Jayhawk Welcome Center, 1266 Oread Avenue, Lawrence, KS 66045. The course usually travels through the KU campus and passes KU war memorials. A course map is provided. Participants receive a finisher's medal and a t-shirt while supplies last. Packet pickup is available on Friday and Saturday at campus and local locations, and at the race site on race day. Free parking options are listed near the Spencer Museum of Art and Memorial Stadium; paid parking is available in the Mississippi/Union Parking Garage. Oread Avenue will be closed for the duration of the event, with the parking garage entrance and exit accessed via Mississippi Street. Awards are offered for first and second place by gender and for age groups, including overall, overall master's, and five-year age increments (with special groupings for ages 1-10 and 80+).
