Mangum Marathon

The 6th Annual Mangum Marathon & Half Marathon takes place near Ellerbe, North Carolina, at the intersection of Carthage Creek Road and Holly Grove Church Road. The event offers both a full marathon and a half marathon, with time limits of seven and five hours respectively. The marathon course features a notable climb near Bethel Church around mile 22, reminiscent of Boston's Heartbreak Hill.

The route starts at the Dog Pen, runs out 13.1 miles for the marathon turnaround, and 6.55 miles for the half, then returns to the finish. Support is minimal, with water stations and drop spots available. All finishers receive medals and premium technical shirts, with awards for various age groups and overall winners.
