36th Annual Midnight Madness Run
The 36th Annual Midnight Madness Run takes place on December 31, 2025, at Kiwanis Park Soccer Field Cross Country Course in Tempe, AZ. The event includes two in-person 5K races: the final 5K of 2025 and the first 5K of 2026, with a New Year celebration and a sparkling cider toast between them. The event is chip timed with real time results and event photos available online and via a mobile app.
Race options, services and logistics
Entry options include a single Final 5K, a single First 5K, a Double Down option covering both races, and a Virtual Run that awards both event medals and a hooded long sleeve tech shirt. Virtual registrations are limited to US addresses; shipped items are sent after the event. Race day registration and packet pick-up begin at 9:00 pm at the park, and there is a separate packet pick-up opportunity on December 30 at Road Runner Sports in Tempe from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Participants receive a custom finisher medal, a dri-fit tech hooded shirt (option to decline shirt for a small discount), age group awards for the top three in specified age groups, pre- and post-race snacks, and chip timing. The event is leashed pet friendly, has no bag check due to a common start and finish area, and does not issue refunds for inclement weather. Registration fees vary by event and by date.
