About the race
Mount Ascutney Vertical Backyard, in Brownsville, Vermont, is a Last Person Standing endurance race on Mount Ascutney. Runners ascend and descend the mountain hourly, with two ascent options: a three-lap orange loop up the t-bar path for 403 vertical feet per lap, or a single ascent on the green loop to a higher spot above a ski trail at 1209 vertical feet. The race ends when only one competitor remains.
An aid station sits at the bottom, and hot food is available. Camping spots, access to water, and the heated Ascutney Outdoors Center with bathrooms are on-site, and the course is highly spectator-friendly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
